Flinders Island, located in Bass Straight off Tasmania's Nort East Coast, has an extraodinary variety of raw natural beauty providing a wealth of visual ideas and creative stimulation.
Everyone in the workshop will be encouraged to develop their own visual language in response to the landscape; capturaing a sense of place on a personal level and linking this to the unique Flinders island experience.
Excursions will be coordinated with the workshop program to take in some of the many landscape options. Outdoor painting and drawing processes will be demonstrated to gather reference for working in the studio.
The suggested materials list will be compact and portable but provide enough options to fully realise any visual ideas.
Guidance on a one-to-one basis will be a feature, along with constructive and supportive group discussions, all in a stimulating and beautiful environment.
